IPL-2009 What a dramatic finish to a great event..Great because 2 teams at the bottom of the table last year...broke the shackles and emerged on the top. This looks like an event of match fixing but given the honesty of Gilly and Kumble its hard to believe there was any fixing involved.
Deccan Chargers emerged at the top (which I loved) .. with a fabulous all round performance from all players.
The only spoilsport to the IPL 2009 was the worst after show after the IPL. I was waiting for the presentation ceremony but the organisers had some other plans in mind. They made me watch 2 hours of crap show.. before letting me know who the MOM and MOS are.
But saying all that, it has definitely captured the scene and come of age. IPL 2 has earned more revenue than the 1st edition and future editions hold a lot of promise.
The tournament has been made more exciting with the introduction of the FIP (read as Fake IPL Player) .. His insight to the game has added spice to an already masala event. Other things which held the tournament back were excess commercialization of cricket (with the introduction of strategic timeout and "DLF maximum" and "Citi Moment of Success" which were not necessary. These give a cheap image to a great event.
I hope the organisers dont spoil the game with these cheap antics.
Looking forward for more entertainment from the next edition of IPL 2010.
